Alex Smiles Ltd is one of the largest independent waste management companies servicing the North East of England.
We offer a comprehensive range of skip and rolonof container hire to both construction, industrial, commercial and domestic customers.
Our core activity is the collection, processing and recycling of waste materials and we are responsive to the ever changing market place of increasing waste costs.
We have an extensive fleet of over 40 heavy goods vehicles and 100 specialist personnel dedicated to delivering a quality service to you.........the customer.

Alex Smiles Limited was established in 1973 by Alex & Jane Smiles. Alex created the business out a need for reclaimed car parts demonstrating remarkable enterprise skills.
The business remains a family oriented enterprise with direction from Stuart and John Smiles.
The company expanded in 2002 relocating the main operations to Deptford Terrace, our current nine Acre Site on the banks of the River Wear next to the Queen Alexander Bridge.
Further investment of £4.5 Million pounds in 2009 resulted in the commissioning of a Material Recycling Facility and 25% increase in Employment by the company.
We offer a customer focused relationship approach which is adaptable to customer needs working with Multi National organisations, Small to Medium Enterprise, Sole Traders, Private Individuals, Public and Third Sectors.
We are a diverse organisation offering Fabrication, Transportation, Consultancy, and Snow Clearance amongst some of the services we offer.
